The Economic Benefits from Halving the Dropout Rate: A Boom to Businesses in the Nation's Largest Metropolitan Areas - January 2010
The Alliance for Excellent Education released an excellent report (funded by State Farm) estimating the economic benefits of cutting the dropout rate in half in many of this country’s largest communities. It also estimates the cost of reducing the dropout rate by 1,000 students. The report, dated January 2010, provides very specific examples like increased real estate sales and community prosperity.
